Counselling for Carers
Caring for a loved one can be very rewarding, but it can also bring emotional, physical and mental challenges. Counselling provides a safe, confidential space for you to explore your feelings, develop coping strategies and receive emotional support.
How Counselling can Help Carers
Having worked a great deal within the caring world not only as a counsellor but also in my private life I understand only too well the day to day challenges that can sometimes make us feel overwhelmed and alone. We all need support sometimes, someone to listen to our story, someone to help us find our way through difficult times, someone who will share and guide our journey.
As a Person-Centred Counsellor I am here to help and guide you through whatever difficulties are heavy for you right now. Talking and sharing with someone, understanding that you are not alone can help in many ways including:
- Managing your stress levels, worries and overwhelm
- Reduce your feelings of isolation and loneliness
- Help you understand and manage your emotions
- Exploring your feelings of grief, loss and changing relationships
- Build your resilience and emotional wellbeing
- Improve your self-care and work-life balance
- Develop healthy boundaries within your caring situation
- Gain your confidence in the caring role

A Gentle Reminder
You cannot pour from an empty cup. Looking after your own wellbeing is not selfish it helps you to continue supporting those you care for.
'Caring for yourself is part of caring for others'
There are times in life when we all need additional support - remember to ask for help is not a weakness it's a strength.
